Gail did our postcard today using Donna's graphic! Tomorrow is the beginning of our third week of rehearsal, we'll do two hours with Lindy and Ellis, then two with Lenora and Benjamin. Starting Wednesday it will be one or two runthroughs a night through Sunday. Angelina will prime the backdrop Sunday night and paint it Monday (the cast will rest.)

Last day of week two, most of the furniture for the set arrived, Duncan Phyfe tables and chairs brought to the theater by a lovely couple from New Jersey who were spending the afternoon at the Tenant Museum on Orchard Street, six blocks below the Gene Frankel. Caitlin took the cast's measurements for costumes, she'll go to the Costume Collection tomorrow, send photos and then pull them on Tuesday.
Nathan arrived back from a day in Pittsburgh. He's the winner of an August Wilson Center fellowship for his playwriting!

It's been a busy week, rehearsing every day but one, making a schedule for load-in, Angelina painting the backdrop, Lance hanging Miriam's lights , Caitlin measuring for costumes, and buying period furniture that Angelina found from 50 miles around New York. Tonight will be the tenth rehearsal and the cast are so quick it feels like we've had three weeks.  We'll "rest" tomorrow and begin run-throughs on Sunday.

The second day of rehearsal was Ash Wednesday, a fitting day for a play called Easter, and we did more work on long two-person scenes between Lindy and Ellis, Lenora and Benjamin and a short scene at the end of the play between Lindy and Lenora. Tonight we'll do the same but work with Ellis and Benjamin instead of the short bit at the end.

Easter began rehearsal yesterday at the Gene Frankel Theatre. We preview in 24 days. Jolie and Nathan played father and son in Playing with Fire (read the NY Times review) and this time Jolie plays Nathan's father's business partner, who can throw the family out onto the street if he forecloses.

Lenora (Lea Smith) and Benjamin (DeSean Stokes).

Ellis (Nathan James) and Lindy (Jolie Garrett).

Lea and DeSean are new to the company and play Nathan's sister - who had a nervous breakdown when their father went to jail - and Benjamin - an orphan whose inheritance their father misappropriated!
